About Jimmy Kidd Founder, Tranquility Lighting Design
Jimmy is a landscape lighting designer whose work in Western Kentucky and beyond has been nationally recognized for its creativity and effectiveness in bringing out the best aspects of his customers’ properties. He founded Tranquility Lighting Design in 2009 and brings more than 15 years of experience and a true passion for artistic illumination to every job and every customer.
Jimmy’s unique lighting journey has deep roots in the world of music and performance. He began his career as a certified Audio Engineer working as a stagehand and lighting technician at venues in Austin, Texas. He learned the importance of technical excellence and attention to
detail when he worked in production for acts like the Rockettes, AC/DC, WWE Wrestling, and Brad Paisley but discovered his passion for outdoor lighting working for the world-famous Austin City Limits Music Festival. In that venue, he fell in love with the artistry of outdoor lighting and the beauty that thoughtful lighting could illuminate in the night.
